Loretta Schettino

December 23, 1952 - October 31, 2021

Loretta Schettino of Bay Terrace passed away suddenly on Sunday October 31, 2021. Born in Brooklyn to the late John & Margaret Collins , Loretta was a graduate of Ft. Hamilton High School. Her family moved to Staten Island when she was 17. Loretta was a very outgoing and warm soul. She developed friendships with her neighbors that have lasted years. She was kind and generous in many ways. She was always willing to help and support anyone in need. Her family mentioned that she had already begun ammasing toys for Toys for Tots campaign, something she did every year. She was a fixture at the Great Kills Little League as she attended every baseball game that any of her grandchildren were playing. Her 7 grandchildren were the joy of her life. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family. She is survived by her loving sons, Derek, Keith and Timmie, her 7 grandchildren Chloe,Lilly, Lucas, Emma, Mason, Drew and Gavin. her husband former Pasquale and her brother Edward Collins. She was pre deceased by her brothers Thomas, George and Richard and her sister Bonita ( Bonnie) Hewitt. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Tuesday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc. 28 Eltingville Blvd. On Wednesday we will depart the Funeral home at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Child Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Ocean View Cemetery.
