Marino Regina of New Dorp passed away on Saturday July 24, surrounded by his loving family . Born and raised in Brooklyn NY he moved with his family to Staten island in 1954 and settled in New Dorp, where he ran a general store with his late parents Rocco and Rose along with his siblings.He met the love of his life Dolores Senisi in 1955 and they were married for over 64 years. Together they raised four children, Rocco and his wife Mary Ann, Anthony and his wife Linda, Rosemarie and her husband Jeffrey and Angelo. They were blessed with 6 grand children; Joey ( Stephanie), Nicholas, Marino - Anthony ( Danielle, Michael, Evan, and Lindsey, and three great grandchildren Vincent, Lucy and Ava. Throughout his life he owned and operated several Meat market businesses on Staten Island retiring in 1997. He and Dolores then relocated to Ballston Spa NY, until 2016 when they came back to New Dorp to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Marino was a dedicated husband, father , grandfather and great grandfather who loved life. He was known for his dry sense of humor as well as being a charismatic individual. He was known for his great love of animals, gardening but most of all family. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at The John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc.. 28 Eltingville Blvd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at the Church of the Holy Child beginning at 11:00 a.m. A New York State decision that those who are vaccinated are no longer required to wear masks. However, our staff who have serviced over 350 covid funeral services safely will wear masks to protect those who have not been vaccinated or those who feel uncertain and our own families.
