Matthew Pinto of Glen Cove, Long Island passed away on May 31, 2021. Matthew was born in Brooklyn, New York. His family soon moved to the Great Kills section of Staten Island. Matthew was a graduate of St. Joseph by the Sea High School, graduating in 1987. He received his Bachelor of Science and MBA degrees in Accounting (graduating with honors) from St. John's University. He subsequently became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Matthew had a larger-than-life personality. He had tremendous charisma, warmth and compassion for others. Extremely sharp, quick-witted and caring, he enjoyed interacting and helping others. In 2014, Matthew met the love of his life, Dr. Kerri Sinapi and they resided in Glen Cove, Long Island. He absolutely adored his two daughters, Mary Theresa (Tess) and Sophia, constantly showering them with attention and affection. Although his family was his first priority, Matthew enjoyed various hobbies. He was highly skilled in automotive repair and loved fixing and working on cars. He was also an avid fisherman, movie-buff, and wood-worker. His wood-working creations will live on as a testament to his craftsmanship and talents. He was truly a good soul, simply one of those rare individuals that will never be forgotten and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Matthew, you deserve it. Matthew was the beloved husband to Dr. Kerri Sinapi. Loving father to Mary Theresa and Sophia. Cherished son to John and the late Mary. Loving brother to Maria Vurno, Grace Keighron and John, Frank and Andrew Pinto. Dear brother-in-law to Edward Keighron and Carol, Karen and Gina Pinto. Devoted uncle to Andrew, Christopher and Charlie. Matthew also leaves behind his loyal family dog, Luna. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021, at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. (at Eltingville Station), Staten Island, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
