Maurice ''Moe'' Minickene, 52 of Staten Island, New York passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Staten Island University Hospital North after a long battle with Lung Cancer. Born Monday, October 14, 1968 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Genaro Minickene and the late Janice Martine Minickene. Moe as he was known was a Sewage Treatment Worker for the NYC Department of Environmental Protection, in Oakwood Beach, SI. Moe lived for work and truly enjoyed what he did, He worked hard and was a dedicated employee. In his free time Moe loved to travel, Mexico, Florida, Vegas, California, to name a few. Moe would travel anywhere but never got to fulfill his dream of travelling to Graceland to visit the home of Elvis, who he loved. Moe was an avid Rifle and Gun collector and cherished time hunting with his friends, Moe is survived by his wife Rita (Zampano) Minickene. Loving father of Anthony and Michael and step father of Sabrina Green. Cherished grandfather of Inyana. Brother of Millie, Mijo, Joe,Larry, John, Nena, Naiche, and Charlie. A Funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM on Saturday at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc.. located at 28 Eltingville Blvd Staten Island, New York 10312. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc.., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. Please be mindful due to the current State mandate that a mask must be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing requirements must be followed during the services. Due to the current Pandemic a strict 50 person in room policy is in effect. Please adhere to this policy and allow others to pay their respects as well. Due to the current pandemic circumstances please note: We do not accept deliveries from outside vendors for bakery products, fruit baskets, and floral arrangements until further notice. Floral Arrangements can be purchased from our in house floral designers who work under the most stringent sanitary conditions which include temperature checks, mask wearing, distancing and protective clothing.
