Peter DeLapi, 56 of Huguenot, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 after a brave and difficult battle with COVID-19. Born Monday, April 26, 1965 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the beloved son of the late Nicholas and Marie DeLapi. He was a graduate of Bishop Ford High School in Brooklyn. Peter was the beloved husband to his late wife Wendy who passed away in October of 2014. He was the world to his daughters Samantha and Francesca. He was a co-worker and friend to all those he worked with at Con Edison where he worked for over 30 years. Peter worked in Brooklyn as a splicer and then became a construction inspector before moving to work in Staten Island for the last five years as a construction representative. Peter looked forward to taking family trips to Lake George every year. He was a sports fan who enjoyed watching the New York Mets and Jets play. Surviving are daughters Samantha and Francesca DeLapi , his companion Paulette Iesu, his sister Linda Mormando (Dan), his brother Nicholas DeLapi (Judy) and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:15 AM on Thursday at Our Lady Star of the Sea located at 5411 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. Please be mindful that a mask must be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing requirements must be followed during the services. Due to the current Pandemic we ask that you please adhere to this policy and also ask that you pay your respects and not linger indoors to allow for others to enter and do the same.
