Phyllis Murphy

Phyllis Murphy, 78 passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Staten Island University Hospital South. Born Sunday, September 5, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the devoted daughter of the late Abraham Goldfarb and the late Eva Garrison Goldfarb. Phyllis, an English Teacher, devoted her life to not only her own children but to the thousands of children she taught over the years. In her later years, Phyllis loved to travel, trips including Las Vegas, just last month were what kept her going. She cherished spending time with family and friends and her dog Reggie, and devotedly met her brother for lunch every week. Beloved wife of the late James Murphy (2004) Loving mother of Andrew Murphy and Diane Murphy. Dear sister of Jack Goldfarb. A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc. located at 28 Eltingville Blvd Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Iselin, NJ. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
