Pietro Vitale

Pietro Vitale was born in Partinico, Sicily in 1932. As a young man he enjoyed working with his hands farming and gardening. He met Filippa and they married in 1957. They had four children. In 1966 Pietro left Sicily with his family and settled in Brooklyn, N.Y. There he spent his life working as a construction worker providing for his family. He also became an American citizen. He spent his retirement enjoying time with his family and tending to his ''Beloved Vegetable Garden''. Pietro was the beloved husband of 65 years to Filippa Vitale. Loving father to Agostina Cardaci (Michael), Josephine Giammona (Joseph), Grace Ferrantelli (Joseph), and Frank Vitale (Lorenza). Dear brother to Salvatore. Fond brother in law to Solina. Cherished grandfather to Angela and Peter, Francesca and Peter, Josephine and Gaspare, and Peter and Fina. Doting great grandfather to Jameson and another great-grandchild on the way. Dad you will be dearly missed and never forgotten. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2022, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church located at 5411 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
