Richard A Fasano

December 23, 1958 - October 16, 2020

Richard A. Fasano of Bound Brook NJ, formerly of Eltingville and Huguenot passed away on Friday October 16, 2020. Retired Detective from 9th PCT. Born in Greenville South Carolina to Lucrezia and the late Domenic Fasano, Richard was a many of many vast talents and interests. After retiring from the NYPD he became a Title Closer, establishing many friendships and and a close professional relationship with his brother Raymond and other lawyers and real estate agents. He also moonlighted as a bartender where he was known for his sense of humor , his expertise in mixology and his singing prowess. He was a jack of all trades who was handy and could repair just about anything. He had an artistic talent that was evidenced by his drawings, painting and color prints. He liked reading, going to and watching movies. Richard was also a phenomenal Karaoke singer. He enjoyed watching football and baseball games on television, and as a true New Yorker he , showed no favoritism, and rooted for both the Yankees and Mets . He obtained his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice . He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Policeman�s Benevolent Association. He was the devoted son of Lucrezia, loving brother of Raymond A. Fasano, Danielle Sakitis, and Felice Fasano. Dearest companion of Nancy Scaffidi. He will be remembered as a loving brother in law and fond uncle. Father of Richard Jr., Lauren, Matthew and Alexis. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday from 5-9 pm at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday 11:00 am at Holy Child Church. Private cremation to follow. Contributions in his memory can be made to either Wounded Warriors or St. Jude�s Children�s Hospital. In consideration of current Covid 19 restrictions we must adhere to, masks are required when entering and when inside the funeral home. Since occupancy is limited to 40 people we respectfully ask that after you have paid your respects you kindly exit the funeral home thus allowing other the opportunity to pay their respects to the family.
