Robert Braisted

February 2, 1946 - August 14, 2021

Robert ''Bobby''Braisted, 75, born on February 2, 1946, passed away peacefully on August 14th, at Staten Island University Hospital North. A lifetime Staten Islander, he was the son of the late William and Roberta (Hurley) Braisted. Bobby graduated from Curtis High School. He worked as a butcher in his father's shop in Port Richmond. Bobby was a carpenter and a Jack of all trades. He enjoyed building things, remodeling many kitchens and bathrooms. He loved watching golf, baseball and football (go Falcons!), but most importantly, his grandchildren's soccer games. Bobby was also a master of trivia and would be the ''phone a friend'' of anyone that knew him. Bobby loved travelling with his wife and looked forward to their annual Aruba trip. From getting the best airfare months in advance, to waking up at sunrise to claim the ''chickie'' for the day, to taking a daily walk over to Scott's Brats and of course, hitting the casinos, these were things he truly enjoyed. The Borgata in Atlantic City, Las Vegas and the Gulf Coast were some of his other favorite spots to travel to. Above all else, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Bobby is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Rose Bartelli-Braisted. He was the loving step-father of Joseph (Laura) Bartelli, Theresa (Sean) Carmody, Michael (Josephine) Bartelli and Christopher (Daniela) Bartelli, and always treated them as his own. Adoring grandfather of Christina, Samantha, Maria, Alexandra, Michael, Matthew and Silvana. He is also survived by his sister, Michelle Braisted Gambetta and brother Andrew Braisted and many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts... A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
