Robert L. Tyrell, 90 of Staten Island, New York passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family.. Born Friday, February 21, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York. he was the son of the late William Tyrell and Lillian Lee Tyrell. Robert a retired FDNY Firefighter was devoted to his job and family. A former Marine veteran, following his service Robert became a NYC Firefighter dedicating 25 years to service retiring from his beloved firehouse Tower 157, where his son carried on his legacy. When not at work Robert was all about family and being with them. His love and support will be sorely missed by all who knew him but especially his 7 children grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the beloved husband of 67 years to his wife Constance who sadly passed away just 8 short months ago. Loving father of Robert L. Tyrrell Jr., Kathleen Justesen, Jane Geisler, Patricia LaBarca, Carolyn Balzano, Maryann Mele and Kristine Mazzola. Father in law of Pat Tyrrell, Jerry Geisler, Louis Balzano and Nunzio Mele. Cherished grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment will follow in Oceanview Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
