Susan T. D'Amato
July 1, 1954 - May 8, 2022
An amazing wife, mother and nana, Susan ''Sue'' DAmatos life will carry on after her death. Sue passed away on Sunday, May 8th, at the age of 67, surrounded by loved ones who will carry on her memory and honor her legacy. Sue was born to Michael and Susan Imperiale, on July 1st, 1954, in Brooklyn, NY. After graduating high school, Sue married the love of her life, Michael DAmato. She obtained her associates degree and shortly after, began her career as a paralegal. Sue chose to leave her career after becoming a mother, to son Christopher, and two years later, to daughter Jeanine. Sue was funny, smart, and incredibly witty. She had a passion for butterflies and enjoyed watching old movies and Jeopardy and learning random facts. Sue had a sweet tooth for chocolate and her flowers of choice were orange orchids. Her favorite quote was ''if you have the chance to sit it out or dance, I hope youll dance.''. Sue also loved to sing and would sing ''You Are My Sunshine'', to her children as babies, and later, to her grandchildren. Theyll forever remain her sunshine. There was nothing more important in Sues life than her family. And, to her family, Sue was everything - she was a shoulder to lean on, an ear to talk to and a best friend to celebrate with. She made it a priority to have regular family dinners where shed always ensure everyone else was fed before feeding herself. Sue would always put others before herself without a second thought. She truly was a loving wife, wonderful mother and the Best Nana Ever. Her goodnight kisses will be forever cherished. Sue will be greatly missed and is survived by her husband, Michael, son Christopher, daughter Jeanine, son-in-law Matthew, grandchildren Jack & Dylan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. , at Our Lady of Pity Church located at 1616 Richmond Ave Staten Island, New York 10314. Interment following at Canarsie Cemetery.
