Susan DiBenedetto, 91 of Eltingville, formerly of Toms River passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021, at Staten Island University Hospital South. Born Thursday, August 29, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Domenico Esposito and the late Maria (Ferrara) Esposito. Susan was a brilliant seamstress in the garment industry, in her younger years. In her free time, Susan loved playing cards, she relished in listening to music and dancing. Susan enjoyed cooking and baking and her family will cherish fondly all of the blankets that were crocheted for them by Susan throughout the years. Susan cherished her family most of all and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of the late Sebastian ''Bill'' DiBenedetto who passed away in 2016. Loving mother of Philip DiBenedetto and the late Joni Rogers who passed away in 2014. Adored mother in law of Cathy DiBenedetto. Dear sister in law of Roseanne Esposito. Loving grandmother of Michael Rogers and his wife Cheryl, Lauren Ralph and her husband Eric, Deanna DiBenedetto and Philip DiBenedetto. Cherished great grandmother of Joseph, Julia, and Jude Rogers, and Ethan, Everett ,and Bennett Ralph. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at St Joseph's Church (Rossville) located at 16 Poplar Ave Staten Island, New York 10309. Interment will follow in Brigadiere General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, February 22, 2021, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. Please be mindful due to the current State mandate that a mask must be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing requirements must be followed during the services. Due to the current Pandemic a strict 50 person in room policy is in effect, as well as a maximum of 50 people permitted in Church. Please adhere to this policy and allow others to pay their respects as well. Due to the current pandemic circumstances please note: We do not accept deliveries from outside vendors for bakery products, fruit baskets, and floral arrangements until further notice. Floral Arrangements can be purchased from our in house floral designers who work under the most stringent sanitary conditions which include temperature checks, mask wearing, distancing and protective clothing.
