Theresa F. Jordan, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 20, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.. She was born and raised in the Dyker Heights section of Brooklyn, and also lived in Bay Ridge, before settling in Eltingville in 1978. Theresa was a graduate of Bay Ridge High School. She was proud of the fact that after many years, she returned to school to further her education, receiving her Bachelor Degree in Business at the age of 55 from the former, College of Insurance, now known as St. John's University. Theresa was a devout catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Clare Church. She also happily volunteered her time teaching CCD/religious education to the 1st Grade Students at St. Clare School. She was also a former Treasurer with AARP. She had many hobbies, some of which included reading, especially romance novels, playing cards and puzzles. Theresa loved to travel and took many trips over the years, some of which included Italy, Greece, Paris, Alaska, Germany and Hawaii. Her family fondly recalls what a wonderful cook Theresa was and she would always make a great meal for her family. Above all, family was important to Theresa and always came first. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the beloved wife to the late George, who passed away in 1995. Loving mother to Carol-Ann Jordan and the late Debbie Jordan, who passed away ini 2018. Devoted Grandmother to Andrew Jordan and Robert and Amanda Gines. Cherished great grandmother to Noelle and Bennett Gines. Dear sister to the late Joan Oswald. Theresa is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. (at Eltingville Station), Staten Island, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at St. Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Avenue Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment will follow in Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. A New York State decision that those who are vaccinated are no longer required to wear masks. However, our staff who have serviced over 350 covid funeral services safely will wear masks to protect those who have not been vaccinated or those who feel uncertain and our own families. We feel this is necessary because we have handled 8 covid deaths in the month of May and more as of this writing of June 21st.
