Vincent Triana
January 2, 1923 - July 22, 2020
Vincent Triana, 97 of Annadale, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born Tuesday, January 2, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the devoted son of the late Vincenzo Triana and Delia Scutari Triana. The youngest of 5 children, Vincent was the dear brother of the late Phyllis,Julia, Kaye, and Anthony. Vincent met and married his childhood sweetheart Muriel, with whom he celebrated 74 years of love and happiness together. Muriel sadly passed away in 2017. On March 19, 1944 Vincent dutifully and proudly joined the US Army during WWII. Vincent was seriously wounded in Germany and was honorably discharged on July 26, 1945. Upon his return home to the States Vincent found employment in a diamond dye company, then as a US Postal Carrier, before beginning his long standing career as a member of the FDNY in 1950. Vincent rose to the rank of Lieutenant and retired on June 19, 1976 after almost 26 years of dedicated service. In his free time and later years, Vincent was a regular and member of the Friendship club of Great Kills, and a active member at the Great Kills Swim Club where he spent many a day playing cards and socializing with his friends. Vincent loved reading, and trips to Atlantic City, Walking the dogs gave him such pleasure, and spending time with family and friends were his greatest joy. Loving father of Delann Pignatelli and the late Gary Triana who passed away in 2016. Dear father in law of Michael Pignatelli and Frances Triana. Cherished Grandfather of Carissa, John, Michael and Joseph. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Friday at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc. located at 28 Eltingville Blvd Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday, July 24, 2020, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. Please be mindful that a mask must be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing requirements must be followed during the services. Due to the current Pandemic a strict 35 person in room policy is in effect, please adhere to this policy and allow others to pay their respects as well.
