Born on October 3, 1939, in the Borough Park section of Brooklyn, New York, Anthony lived a life rich in love, laughter, and family, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever remain in our hearts. Anthony was the beloved son of Anthony and Raffaella (Pantozzi) Cangelosi. He was preceded in death by his devoted parents and various family members, including his father-in-law Joseph Pizzimenti, mother-in-law Angelina Pizzimenti, brother-in-law Robert Raduazzo, sister-in-law JoAnn Mustillo, and his dear friend and best man Jimmy Ciccimarro. On November 27, 1965, Anthony married the love of his life, Maria Pizzimenti. Their union was a testament to love and commitment, a partnership that flourished for over 60 years. In 1993, Anthony and Maria made the decision to move to Staten Island, where they continued to build a life filled with joy and family traditions. Anthony was a proud father to three wonderful children: Anthony, Donna, and Steven, who will forever carry his legacy in their hearts. He welcomed his daughters-in-law, Susan and Danielle, with open arms, and took immense pride in being a grandfather to five beautiful grandchildren: Anthony Joseph, Jonathan, Christian, Brielle, and Deanna. The bond he shared with his family was unbreakable; he cherished every moment spent nurturing and supporting them, always putting their needs before his own. A dedicated professional, Anthony worked in banking at various firms and ultimately retired from Chase Bank, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. His dedication was not just in his career but also in his passion for life. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from November 3, 1961, to October 31, 1967, with a stint stationed in Japan, reflecting his love for his country and community. Anthony was a man of many interests and hobbies. He had a lifelong love for the Brooklyn Dodgers, which evolved into a passionate allegiance to the New York Mets. He was also an enthusiastic cook who delighted in the culinary arts, often experimenting with new recipes. His famous Lemon Chicken recipe even earned a spot in a Staten Island Advance contest, a testament to his culinary skills. The holiday season brought him great joy, particularly Christmas, where he took pride in preparing a festive dinner for his family. He found pleasure in simple joys, often relaxing in front of the television watching his favorite shows: The Food Network, Everyone Loves Raymond, The King of Queens, Seinfeld, and Judge Judy. Anthony's warmth, humor, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. A funeral service will be held in his honor on February 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church.
