Charles ''Bill'' Zadik

Charles William ''Bill'' Zadik died peacefully at home in the early morning of March 14, 2024. He was the only child born to Charles Zadik and Anna (Mizesko) Zadik on October 27, 1942 in Manhattan. During his childhood he spent many memorable summers with his parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins at Lake Hopatcong. He was an alter server at Trinity Wall Street and graduated high school at John Jay in Brooklyn. He went to college at Fairleigh Dickenson University, where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Economics in 1965. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army Reserves until 1971. He completed a Masters in Finance from St. John's University in 1975. He married his college sweetheart Marycarol O'Neill in August 1970 and moved to Staten Island, in Annadale, where they resided for more than 50 years. Together they raised two daughters, Suzanne and Corinne. He held many different positions in his business career in banking, the stock market, but his specialty was health care. He worked as the Business Manager for the Visiting Nurse Association of Staten Island in the 70s. He then spent the majority of his career as an auditor for Blue Cross Blue Shield. In his retirement he worked as a consultant for Zimmet Healthcare. He and his family have spent almost 50 wonderful summers in their second home in the beloved town of Ocean Grove, NJ. There he was a longtime member of the Ocean Grove Fishing Club. He delighted spending summer days sitting on his porch on Embury Avenue chatting with neighbors, friends, and sharing his New York City parallel parking expertise to the daily visitors (and on occasion, going so far as to park their cars himself!). He also was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved fishing, the New York Rangers, and New York Yankees, but above all he loved his family and most favorite job of the past 19 years was being ''Pop-Pop'' to his six cherished grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marycarol, his daughters Suzanne (Roger) Fahy and Corinne (Justin) Beck, along with his beloved grandchildren, Kailey, Aidan, Gavin, Nora, Reagan, and Elizabeth ''Libby''. The family will receive friends from 9:00 - 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. (at Eltingville Station), Staten Island, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Rd Staten Island, New York 10312. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association (54 Pitman Avenue, Ocean Grove, NJ 07756), www.oceangrove.org with the designation for the Youth Dramatics program, or the Ocean Grove Beach Foundation (20 Benn Lane, Ocean, NJ 07712), www.ogbeachfoundation.org in his memory.
