Obituary for Freddie Capobianco Freddie Capobianco, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at NYU Lutheran Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, on December 26, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on September 24, 1939, in New York, New York, Freddie lived a life filled with love, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. Freddie was the beloved son of the late John Capobianco and the late Jennie (Pagano) Capobianco. He is survived by his devoted wife, Anna (nee Verde), with whom he shared a beautiful life in Brooklyn. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, and built a loving home filled with laughter and joy. Freddie took immense pride in his family, and his legacy continues through his children John ( and his wife Rosanne) and Tom ( and his partner Gregory), grandchildren, Jessica ( her husband Anthony) and Jamie (and Matt), as well as his great-grandchildren, Anthony, Angelo, and Dominic Fred. He was the devoted brother of Ann Marie, cherished brother-in-law to Andy and a beloved uncle. A proud printing pressman, Freddie dedicated many years of his life to his craft as a proud member of Union Local 1. His strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in all that he accomplished throughout his career. Beyond his professional life, Freddie was well-known for his deep-rooted love for the New York Yankees, with whom he shared many unforgettable moments watching games, celebrating victories, and feeling the excitement of each season. He was also an avid enthusiast of trains and had a profound appreciation for New York City history, especially the rich tapestry of Brooklyn, the place he called home. Freddie was a devoted family man who found joy in simple pleasures. He loved gathering with family, indulging in bike rides, building and fixing things, and spending sun-soaked days at the Seagate and Coney Island Beach Clubs. His zest for life was infectious, and he made every family outing an adventure filled with laughter and love. A devout and religious Catholic, Freddie's faith was a guiding force in his life. He was a proud 4th degree knight with the Knights of Columbus, where he actively participated in community service and exemplified the virtues of charity, unity, and fraternity. Visitation will be held at McLaughlin & Sons Inc., 9620 3rd Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11209. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Freddie's remarkable life, share stories, and pay their respects on Monday December 29th, 2025 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday December 30, 2025 at 9:30 AM at St. Patrick's RC Church located at 9511 4th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11209. Interment will follow in St Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY As we bid farewell to Freddie Capobianco, we remember a man of integrity, kindness, and unwavering love for those around him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations. Rest in peace, Freddie.
