John Ralph Miani

John R. Miani passed away unexpectedly in his home on May 3rd, 2026 at the age of 66. It is believed that his cause of death was Sudden Cardiac Syndrome caused by overexertion. He lived in Staten Island, New York with his family at the time of his passing. John was born on October 22, 1959 in Queens, New York. His parents who preceded him were Violet and Joseph Miani. John had two older siblings, Eileen and Joseph. They grew up in a loving home together. He always enjoyed laughing and reminiscing about their childhood adventures. John attended Arch Bishop Molloy High School and went on to earn a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona in Tucson. John began his career at JJ Kenny in 1981 where he worked for over 20 years. He also worked for Fidelity Investments, The Municipal Bond Rulemaking Board and Etrade. He was well known in the business community, and was regarded for his hard work and unique ability to fill any office with laughter. His magnetic and charming personality matched his dashing good looks. He had a gift for making everyone feel special. Lois always said that it was his sense of humor which made her fall in love with him. John is survived by his wife Lois (Ramondino) of 36 years, his son, Jason, daughter, Jillian and granddaughter, Juliette. Also survived are his sister, Eileen Normandeau, brother Joseph Miani with their children, spouses and grandchildren, Thomas & Kendall Normandeau, Kristy & Dan Stefanelli, Kevin Normandeau, Daniel & Courtney Miani, Joanna Miani, Brian & Charis Miani and their children. John had many hobbies and interests. A few of his favorites were the New York Yankees, bike riding, traveling, and collecting baseball cards. He loved to ride his bike to the park and back every day. He owned several bikes with matching helmets. John and Lois traveled extensively throughout the United States, went to Italy, Paris, Amsterdam, and London. They saw the Yankees in London and did laundry in Belgium while the rest of the tour group ate chocolates. John had also attended many Elton John and Billy Joel concerts with his family and friends. He had a large collection of albums, figurines, cards and toys. For the past three years, John spent much of his time with his granddaughter, Juliette. He adored her and loved going on walks through the neighborhood together. They would pickflowers and leaves and when they returned home, they would tell the family about everything they saw on their walk. John enjoyed gardening and liked to talk to the neighbors as a sort of self appointed mayor. John will be remembered for his tenacity and sense of humor. He will be cherished by all who knew him, and will be missed dearly. . The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc. located at 28 Eltingville Blvd Staten Island, New York 10312.
