Leonard Scola

Leonard Scola, 76 of Arden Heights, passed away on May 25, 2024. Leonard was the son of Joe and Rose Scola from Ozone Park, Queens. He was a graduate of John Adams High School. Len started his work career in Wall Street working the New York Stock Exchange and continued as an owner of a consulting business, Xcitek in the heart of wall street. Lenny's personality was larger than life. He loved to be around people from attending Jet games, to golf trips with his lifelong friends and sons-in-law. In his younger years, Lenny enjoyed playing football and later on as a referee. Lenny was a great cook. He loved to experiment with different recipes and was famous for his cioppino on Christmas Eve. One of the most important parts of Lenny's day to day life was spending time with his grandchildren whether it was going to his granddaughters' dance recitals; plays; flag football games; cheerleading competitions to his grandson's performing on the drums at the Stone Pony. However, Lenny most valued the family vacations in Aruba with Liz, his wife, daughters: Kerry (Brian), Jackie (Chuck), Joanna (Joe) and grandchildren: Vincent, Victoria, Emily, Kayla. Lenny was outspoken but selfless and provided editorial advice. He was the beloved husband to Elizabeth Scola. Loving father to Kerry Ann Cordasco, Jaclyn Scola and Joanna Scola. Dear father-in-law to Brian Cordasco, Chuck Juan and Joseph Giampapa. Devoted grandfather to Vincent Leonard Cordasco, Emily Cordasco, Victoria Scola-Giampapa and Kayla Scola-Giampapa. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. (at Eltingville Station), Staten Island, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church located at 5411 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in Lenny's memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
