Born on August 17, 1946, in Queens, NY, Raymond was a devoted husband, a loving father, a cherished grandfather, and a great-grandfather whose legacy will live on in the lives of those he touched. Raymond was the beloved husband of 59 years to Ellen C. Mincher, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Their enduring bond was a testament to their commitment and devotion to one another. He leaves behind his three adoring children: Raymond Mincher (Rosaria), Julianne Gibbons (Jim), and Andrew Mincher (Nicole). He was deeply proud of his role as a grandfather to Corinne, Raymond, Emily, GraceAnn, James, Julianna, Macallister, Cicely, and Brooks, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Raymond was also a devoted great-grandfather to Sophia, Salvatore, and Coraddo, who brought him immense joy. Raymond was born to Peter J. Mincher and Anne (Hanna) Mincher, both of whom are now deceased. Throughout his life, Raymond dedicated himself to his work and community. He graduated from Pace University with a degree in Accounting and went on to become an esteemed accountant for National Grid, formerly Brooklyn Union Gas. His career was marked by integrity and a dedication to service, reflecting the values he held dear. As a proud U.S. Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War, Raymond carried the spirit of a true patriot. He was deeply respected for his service and commitment to his country. After his military career, he embraced life with an enthusiasm that was infectious. He had a passion for golfing, a love for coaching and refereeing in the Staten Island Peewee Football League, and a fervent loyalty as a Mets and Jets fan. Family vacations to Aruba and Singer Island were some of his favorite times, where he created lasting memories with those he loved. Raymond had a special place in his heart for his dogs, Kelsey and Meadow, who are left heartbroken by his absence. His love for animals was evident in the way he cared for them, reflecting his gentle and nurturing spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause that was close to Raymond's heart. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. (at Eltingville Station), Staten Island, New York. A Funeral Service will be at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Funeral Home. A Prayer Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
