Robert Mondone

Robert Mondone, 83 of Rossville, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born Saturday, September 4, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Rocco and Elizabeth Mondone. He was the husband of Beatrice Mondone nee Baffi of 59 years. Robert and Beatrice were married on September 23rd, 1961 and lived most of their life in Eltingville together where they raised their four children; Paul, Robert, Judi and Elizabeth. � He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, after his service he began his career with Con Edison. Robert worked as Supply Analyst with the company for 38 years. He truly enjoyed his job and wished he could have still been working til this day. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed reading and watching old movies. His favorite pastime above all was being with his family. He loved the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. His eight grandchildren were his pride and joy. Robert is survived by his beloved wife Beatrice, his loving children Paul (Jennifer), Robert (Jennifer), Judi (Danny) and Elizabeth Donegan; his cherished eight grandchildren James, Samantha and Nicole Donegan & Mychal, Matthew, Gabrielle, Nicholas and Natalie Mondone; and his caring aide Marcy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday at St. Thomas The Apostle Church located at 6135 Amboy Rd Staten Island, New York 10309.Arrangements Include Private Cremation. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, November 6, 2020, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. Please be mindful due to the current State mandate that a mask must be worn at all times in the funeral home and social distancing requirements must be followed during the services. Due to the current Pandemic a strict 40-50 person in room policy is in effect, please adhere to this policy and allow others to pay their respects as well.
