Roger Peter Conti

Roger Peter Conti, 78 passed away suddenly and peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Roger was born the youngest of three children to Antoinette and Peter Conti in Brooklyn, NY on August 23, 1945. He worked as the master electrician for NYU Medical Center in NYC for thirty-five years before his retirement in 2000 at the age of 55. As a young boy Roger and his family lived in Brooklyn, this is where he met his wife Cookie (Emilia) when he was just 14 and she was 12 riding the city bus home from school. Roger and Cookie kept company from 1960 till he took his last breath. They created an amazing life together, getting married on November 25, 1967. Together, they bought a brand-new house in the Heartland Village area of Staten Island in 1984 and started the next chapter of their lives. They had great parties which are still talked and laughed about until today. Everyone knew them simply because they would always sit outside on the porch like the King and Queen of the neighborhood. They had 2 beautiful children, Roger Vincent and Antoinette Rose. Roger's Family was his everything, his wife and children were his world, but the apple of his eye was his grandchildren Victoria, Roger, Michelle and Gabriella they always made him smile from ear to ear he was known to them as Poppy/Grandpa. Roger had a special love for his pets, especially his dog Alfie that he found underneath a car and tried to sneak past Cookie which he then tried to pawn off as a Valentines Day gift, It worked. He always got his way, and it wasn't hard for him because he was such a kind, loving man. He was never hesitant to help anyone anywhere, this is why he was loved by all who knew him. He had a smile that would just make you smile when you saw it. He was always happy-go-lucky and will be fondly remembered that way. Roger's last days were spent on vacation or as he would call it his paradise in Venice, Florida with his family and friends. He said these were some of his best memories of spending it with the people he loves. Roger said and I quote " I'm not going home cancel my ticket, I'm staying in paradise" and once again he got his way. He will be missed tremendously. Roger is survived by his beloved wife Cookie; his children Roger Vincent (Nanette) and Antoinette Rose (Michael); his loving grandchildren Victoria, Roger, Michelle and Gabriella, Gabriella and Gia. The Family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday December 17, 2023, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc, 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
