Sally Totilo

Sally Totilo, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, surrounded by her family. Sally was born September 28, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY to Mary and James Jannuzzi. The youngest of five siblings, she is survived by her brother Michael Jannuzzi. Sally moved to Eltingville, NY with her husband Ronald Totilo in 1967 where she lived for 57 years and raised their three children Paul, Christine and Nicole. Sally graduated from New Utrecht HS in Brooklyn and held various retail positions over a 20-year career in the Staten Island Mall where she had the opportunity to interact with people of all walks of life and establish long-lasting friendships. Sally will be remembered for her welcoming personality, enduring strength, unwavering devotion to family, and of course, her perfectly manicured nails. She enjoyed socializing with friends, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and watching old movies. By far, her biggest joy was spending time with her family, particularly her seven grandchildren. She made it a point to attend all their milestone events and insisted on going out for breakfast whenever they offered to take her out for the day. She looked forward to celebrating Christmas each year and went out of her way to make it a special time of year for everyone. An avid cook and renowned baker, we will always remember her Sicilian pizza, fried chicken cutlets, Sunday gravy and Christmas cookies among others. Sally was predeceased by her loving husband Ronald of 42 years. She is survived by her children Paul (Jacqueline), Christine (Louis) and Nicole (Donald) along with seven grandchildren, Christopher, Michelle, Stephanie, Alexa, Danielle, Daniel and Michael. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, 28 Eltingville Blvd., Staten Island, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 5411 Amboy Road, Staten Island, NY. Interment will follow at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations in Sally's memory be made to her favorite charity, St Jude Children�s Research Hospital @ www.stjude.org/donate
