Theresa Iacona, 83 passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Staten Island University Hospital South. Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend to Many Theresa Iacona of Bay Terrace, Staten Island, passed away on May 22nd, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on March 24th, 1941, on Strong Place in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, Theresa and her beloved husband, Lawrence, moved to Staten Island in 1970 and remained in the same residence, raising their two sons, Carl and Michael, in a home filled with love and support. As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Theresa truly shined. She celebrated over 50 years of marriage with Lawrence, and her love for her family knew no bounds. Whether birthdays, holidays, or just a regular day, she always went above and beyond to make every moment memorable. Her elaborate house decorations, playful Halloween costumes, trick-or-treating with her grandkids, and cherished role as Mrs. Claus during Christmas brought joy to her family, especially her grandchildren. When it came to work, Theresa dedicated over 20 years of her life as a kitchen aid for New York City schools as a dedicated member of DC 37, retiring at 62. Never one to slow down, she continued to work as a receptionist at H&R Block in the Staten Island Mall during tax season for another two decades, where she was known for her warm smile and helpful nature. Known affectionately by her friends as Terri, she had an incredible ability to connect with people. Her jovial attitude and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Terri cherished her network of friends and the countless memories they created together by going out to dinners, shows, and trips to Atlantic City. Theresa will be deeply missed by the many lives she touched with her love, generosity, and vibrant spirit. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew her. Theresa leaves behind her sons Carl and Michael, daughters-in-law Gina and Donna, and her grandchildren Lawrence, Carl, Amanda, and Christopher. Her nieces and nephews Ralph Mancini, Maria & Al Cella, Stephen & Rose, and Renee Franucci also survived her. She joins in eternal rest her husband Lawrence Iacona, parents Ralph and Maria Mancini, in-laws Carlo and Mary Iacona, and siblings Concetta Franucci and Anthony Mancini. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at St. Patrick's Church located at 53 St. Patrick's Place Staten Island, New York 10306. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
