Vincent Terrusa

Vincent Terrusa, 73 of Sparta, NJ formerly of Eltingville, SI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at home surrounded by the love of his family. Born Sunday, November 6, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, he was the only son among 4 children of the late Martin Terrusa and the late Fedalma Cardosanto Terrusa. Vincent, born and raised in Brooklyn, served proudly in the US Army Reserves for many years. Following graduation from high school, Vince attended Pace University earning his bachelor's degree in finance. Following his degree, Vincent pursued his career as an Institutional Broker for Banking and Insurance and spent many years in his trade. Vincent met and married the love of his life, the former Sylvia Tirado, and the two raised two beautiful daughters together. Vincent and Sylvia were parishioners of Our Lady of the Lake church in Sparta for the last 15 years but were long-time Parishioners of St Clare Church, here on the island spending over 26 years here in Eltingville. Vince, as many knew him, enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved the Yankees and the NY Giants, a true NY Fan, he cherished getting out on the golf course to play a round whenever he could. He found serenity being on the water and spent his last days gazing out on the water that he loved. He could always be found watching Fox News, keeping up to date with the current stories. More than anything Vincent enjoyed the company of his close family, his wife, his children, and his grandchildren were his life, and he relished every moment spent with them. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was the devoted husband of 53 years to Sylvia (Tirado)Terrusa. Loving father of Christine Fusco and her husband John and Jeanine Terrusa and her husband Alex Gonzalez. Dear brother of Johanna Bifalco, Lena D'Elia and Mary Ann Coppolino. Cherished grandfather of Jay, Victoria, Nicole, Vincent, and Samantha. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 AM on Saturday at St Clare Church located at 110 Nelson Ave Staten Island, New York 10308. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, March 24, 2023, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
