Testimonials

We receive many letters from the families we've served, thanking us for our caring ways during their time of loss. Their words warm our hearts, and speak to you of our professionalism, compassion, and the true value of the services we provide.

As I learn of the difficulties thousands of families have faced taking care of their dead during the COVID-19 pandemic, I feel particularly blessed to have worked with you. From the time you learned of my brother’s death, you have been exceptionally kind and helpful: expressing condolences and speaking respectfully when my family first contacted you (while other funeral home representatives were callous and rushed in our interactions)... picking up the body just one day after I called you (while other funeral homes suggested our family place its name on a waiting list and call back in a month)… repeatedly following up with the nursing home where my brother died to secure death certificates… providing proof of pickup when the nursing home gave us incorrect (and disturbing) information… and keeping us fully informed at every stage. All this would have been appreciated under any circumstances, but at this particularly challenging time it is truly extraordinary. Despite the overwhelming demands on your business during the pandemic, you made my family feel as though we were your only client. We will never forget your compassion and assistance.

On behalf of my family I wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to each and every person at Scalia's, from the person who answered our call, the greeters at the door, the person who complied the video, the chauffeurs and pallbearers. A special thank you to Shannon Walters who kept us focused, helped us with difficult choices and was extremely patient. The video you prepared exceeded our expectations, and all enjoyed seeing 9 decades of our mother's life which prompted many fond memories. The coffee lounge provided welcome space particularly for the younger members of the family. Moms remains were treated with utmost respect, being shouldered into and out of S. Clares and even how the casket was placed in the Chapel at Brigadier General William Doyle Cemetery. The entire process was made worry free, and we were so pleased with Mom's appearance. Thank You The Burgos family

I want to thank everyone from Scalia Funeral Home. The deaths of my parents so close together was so much to bear, the staff at Scalia made it such an easy process. Everything was explained and detailed and even tho my parents are gone 16 months and 8 months respectively, I feel that I was not forgotten. I get cards for the anniversary of their death. I do not feel so alone. I took advantage of the 365 Days of Grief which helped so much in my grieving process. The Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony helps keep my parents front and center before the hustle and bustle of the holidays. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of us as we went thru the burial process and for keeping the tribute going each and every year. I do not believe I could have gotten this anywhere else. Again thank you for ALL that you do.

Dear Mr. Scalia Our family is very grateful to you for all of your kind and expeditious help with the transportation, cremation, and everything else for our dear brother. At a time when funeral homes could take unfair advantage of customers due to the unprecedented volume of Covid-19 deaths, you have been honest, straightforward and understanding, and you've accomplished all that you promised, exactly as promised. You were there for us above others when we needed you most. Thank you so much.
